Director, Virginia Tech’s Marion DuPont Scott Equine Medical Center
Dr. Michael Erskine is director of Virginia Tech’s Marion duPont Scott Equine Medical Center. As an undergraduate at Virginia Tech, he majored in biology, then graduated from the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine in 1988.
In 1996, Dr. Erskine became the first practicing equine veterinarian in Maryland to be board-certified by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP).
Dr. Erskine has been an active member of the Equine Medical Center Advisory Council and currently chairs the Maryland Veterinary Foundation. In addition, Dr. Erskine is a member of the Maryland Veterinary Medical Association and the Maryland Horse Council and diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners, and has served as past president of all three organizations. He most recently practiced with Damascus Equine Associates in Mount Airy, Maryland, a group of private ambulatory equine practitioners who serve a wide variety of clients and their horses in Maryland and the surrounding area. Dr. Erskine has special interest in sport and pleasure horses.
